This fortnight we're excited to be sharing with you more details on the 2022 CAA Congress, read on for more detail about the 3-day event and what you can expect. This includes our 2022 CAA Awards for Excellence, which are currently open for entry submissions. We will continue to keep you up to date with these newsletters however, you can also head over to our social media channels for speaker highlights, program updates and more.

We have recently released our 'Workforce and Gender Report' for 2021, please feel free to have a read on our  website .

Our first webinar for the year is also coming up on 22nd February. You can join Dr Graham McClelland and Dr Ziad Nehme as they discuss 'Real-Time Clinical Feedback to Improve Clinical Practice'. I hope you'll join us, it's bound to be an informative time.

We would like to invite you to submit an Abstract for consideration by the committee for inclusion in the CAA Congress 2022. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your knowledge, innovation, success stories, and ideas.

Presentations will address the following sub-themes incorporating urban, regional, rural, and remote issues:

  • Patient Safety & Quality
  • Occupational Violence
  • Fleet & Equipment
  • Mental Health & Wellbeing
  • Emergency Management
All abstracts must be submitted via email to  events@caa.net.au  with submissions closing on 31st March 2022.

'Real-time Clinical Feedback to Improve Clinical Practice'
Tuesday February 22nd 11am AEDT


Join Dr Graham McClelland and Dr Ziad Nehme as they discuss real-time clinical feedback to improve clinical practice.Dr McClelland will discuss the impact of introducing real time feedback on ventilation rate and volume in a simulated cardiac arrest scenario, presenting results from the VANZ study. Dr Ziad Nehme will discuss real-life service results, the effect of providing real-time performance feedback and team performance benchmarking reports on clinical practice.

The annual CAA Awards for Excellence have been developed by the Council of Ambulance Authorities to acknowledge and encourage innovations from Ambulance Services throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea. With six categories, and an overall Star Award winner, the CAA Awards for Excellence gives everyone the opportunity to share their innovations to help elevate the Ambulance sector.

About The Council of Ambulance Authorities

The Council of Ambulance Authorities is the peak industry body for Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea ambulance services. CAA represents a unified voice for the pre-hospital sector working to respond to changing community needs by collaborating on issues on metropolitan, regional, national and international significance, and works tirelessly to collaborate on the ambulance and pre-hospital issues of metropolitan, regional, national and international significance. 

The CAA was set up in 1962 to provide ambulance service CEOs with a networking opportunity to discuss issues, learnings and achievements current to the pre-hospital industry. Today the board consists of CEOs from each member service.

Member services collective knowledge and expertise provide a sound foundation to explore opportunities for improvement and innovation and to advocate on the sector's behalf in key areas.
